This text file explains the use of AutoEXE, the standalone version of the Windows print queue application described in the PC/Computing.
Instructions:
1) Create the directory C:\AUTOPRN
2) Place AUTOEXE.EXE in your Windows directory
3) Copy any files that you want AUTOPRN to print to the AUTOPRN directory. (Note: they will be deleted after printing, so only place copies there, not originals.)
4) Execute AUTOEXE.EXE
5) Specify the time at which the files in C:\AUTOPRN should be printed. Enter NOW to print them immediately.
6) Press Enter.
Alternative start up: AutoEXE accepts command line parameters. So if you wanted to print all the files in C:\AUTOPRN at 10:00 am each day, you could create a Program Manager icon labeled "Print at 10" and give it the command line AUTOPRN.EXE 10:00.
Alternative start up: To start AutoEXE automatically each time you run Windows, add it to the LOAD= line in your WIN.INI file. (Note: You cannot pass a command line parameter from the LOAD= statement.)
CAUTION: All files in C:\AUTOPRN will be deleted after they are printed. Don't store files that you want to keep in C:\AUTOPRN.
